Chapter 3

The same man.....

On the same day a year ago........

Who had killed my husband.....

Was now here in front of me......

Staring into my eyes.

Suddenly the hall went silent with no one around.

It is only me, him, and some people standing at the door footstep. My blocked mind had only allowed me to grasp this much. It is hard to think of anything when my nightmare is standing right in front of me.

He is that man....

Who killed my husband.....

And I still have a dream about the blood.....

With his slow footsteps booming in the hall he came and stilled in front of me with his hands locked at his back as his grey eyes looked into mine while I stepped back.

His eyes surveyed me from top to bottom and then back to my eyes as they shone with evil glint and nodded his head in approval.

"Expected".

Was his one word and I wonder what that means. My breathing felt as if it isn't reaching my lungs and my legs slightly shook.

Suddenly he snapped his fingers in front of my eyes and I blinked moving a bit back to create more than an arm's distance.

"Done staring? You should have blinked those little Bambi eyes. They are watering already".

Unintentionally my eyes blinked furiously as if his words reminded me to blink them and I felt a little stinging pain only to realize they are misty.

This time moving a little bit more back I looked up at him and his eyes fell on the pile of clothes I'm catching.

"You are doing that fuckers death anniversary".

His voice was angry and gritting and I didn't find it important to answer him. He is a murderer of my husband. And as a wife, I'm bound to do it.

A thought crossed if he is here to kill me as well.

Gulping my eyes reluctantly dropped down taking a secret glance at his sides examining if he had a gun.

Suddenly his hands which were locked behind were moved in front and I stumbled back in shock when I see a gun in his hand as he pulled the part of the gun. My throat blogged as I moved back on my little steps.

"Sorry. I forgot to off the safety".

That didn't sound apologetic. He raised the gun and pulled something out of it and a reel fall out where they are bullets. He rolled it and slammed it in making me flinch and again he pulled something with a click sound as my body jolted again. His actions didn't look like he is offing safety. It's looking as if he is trying to scare me which I am.

"Hey".

His voice made me look up at him but that didn't help my furrowed brows. His eyes moved from my eye to eye as if he was registering them before he spoke the words.

"Don't worry".

He raised his hands in the air in a gesture of surrendering but still....with the gun and my eyes are still on it.

"I'm not going to kill you...

" Like I killed your husband ".

His lips stretched to the side sinisterly as if he just did a sarcastic joke and I stepped away from him to the showcase table just beside the stairs and walked behind it.

"W-why? W-why d-did you c-came"?

My words came out in the worst way possible as it felt difficult to even voice out my thoughts in front of him. I never knew I was this much afraid of him.

"What? I didn't understand. Repeat it".

Author pov...

He is enjoying that she can't even speak a word properly. It's always like this. He loves people fearing him. And a beautiful girl in front of him isn't an exception. For he knows she is the wife of that bastard who is his enemy. His stepbrother, for which he loathes to even call him by such a name.

The evil glint shone in his eyes making him look like a mad beast as he stepped forward reflexing her to step back.

"D-don't come. D-don't comes near me".

Stopping in his tracks he bent a little down to her level at an appropriate distance keeping his hands back as he smirked at her.

"Did I traumatize you, Aasha Patel"?

Her eyes snapped at him with shock evident in her eyes. She didn't know he knows her name as her brows scrunched wondering why would he know his name and feared that he came here to kill her in the name of her husband.

Her fear kicked in as she stuttered calling her mother-in-law.

"Sasu masala".

"Sasu maaaa" (sasu maa is a term that is used to call for mother-in-law)

"Samiraaaa~".

She shouted their names while he looked at her amused without batting his eyes. A satisfied smile sat on his lips looking at her calling their names for her help as if they really can help her. His grey eyes intensely dropped down at her feet as he surveyed her body. His eyes stopped at her waist which is transparently shown in her white saree and then looked up at her chest and then her face. Almost a scoff left his mouth at the concept of being attired in a white dress. A laughter bubbled in him at the olden conservative thoughts. No one is following such old traditions which are considered social evil and here she is. In a white saree indicating herself as a widow.

His eyes narrowed at her as a joyful smirk played on his lips. She is the daughter-in-law of this house and the wife of that bastard. And he gonna break her all.

"W-why were you shouting? C-cant you do anything of your own? You can't do on---

Yamini's words cut short looking at the man in front of her. Her face paled and her posture stunned looking at him.

"Raghav".

His name came out in a mere whisper as he stared at him in disbelief. Soon her eyes turned glassy as her tears shook in her eyes. She thought about the audacity that he dared to enter this home after he killed her adored son.

She rush over to him and caught his collar, shaking in anger. The guards that stood a little bit away moved forward to take action but were stopped when his hand raised at them.

Aasha looked at the scenario cluelessly until she saw her mother-in-law catching his collar. She was concerned about her mother-in-law and was about to step forward to stop her just when Samira and Yamini's sister Meera came into the frame and reached her at the time.

"Why did you come here? Why did you come here, WHY"?

" HOW DARE YOU? HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE AFTER YOU KILLED MY SON HOW DARE YOU. WHY DID YOU KILL MY SON? WHY DID YOU KILL MY SON? HE DID NOTHING WRONG? WHY HIMMMM"?

With hatred and tears filled in her red eyes, she glared at him and he looked at her with a genuine smile that irritated her.

"Why. Are. You. Here"?

His hands gripped her hands on the collar and tugged them down as he stood straight dusting away his collar and then looked at her.

"Why? You didn't like my presence"?

"You killed my son. You fucking killed my son and you dare to ask this question". Came to her gritted words as she is visibly shaking in anger.

"Didn't you do the same? I hate hypocrisy you know. Did I complain when you killed my mother? Did I"?

He asked with his brows rising and Aasha looked at him stunned. She didn't know whether to digest about what she heard or not about what she heard. How could her mother-in-law possibly kill anyone? Doesn't she fear the law and God? But judging by her mother-in-law's past behavior she knows if she fears it or not.

" And. I should be the one asking you this. Why are you all still here"?

Their brows knitted for a second before she replied.

"The place you are standing belongs to Yamini Shekar Gupta. This. house is.MINE. GET OUT OF MY HOME. GET OUT".

A small scoff left his mouth agitating Yamini. Her teeth gritted as she looked at him with tears swirling in her eyes. It is hard to see the killer of our son laughing at her pain roaming freely.

"Firstly chill women. Don't shouts and I guess you didn't get any news yet. Is it"?

"What news"? Her voice came out hoarse and loud as her brows crunched.

"News that.... This house is not your home anymore. And the news that it is on my name from now on".

"Nonsense. This is our home. My home. Don't talk rubbish and get out of our home. Or else..... I'm gonna complaint to the police about you".

"Tch tch tch. It's completely useless. They are the ones who supported me. And you know that which is why you never approached the police".

"And coming back to the point. I give my hearty condolence on the death of your son. But apart from that, you should get to know about something important that would swipe your existence from this house".

He said as he turned back projecting his hand out and the man came to him and took out the papers handing them to him. He unfolded the papers for her as he flipped papers to the required one and hummed in approval when he finally got them.

"So.....here It says that This notice serves to confirm that as of 20th April 2023, Harshan Gupta has transferred 85% ownership of the property located at Meerut to Raghav Verma Raghuvanshi. The transfer of ownership was completed by the requirements of Harshan Gupta, and Raghav Verma Rajvanshi is now the legal owner of 85% of the property. The consideration paid for the transfer of ownership was 270 crores. All rights, responsibilities, and obligations associated with the 85% share of the property are now the responsibility of Raghav Verma Rajvanshi".

With his carefree attitude, he folded back the papers in his one hand and looked at her.

"So that's summary. You can check for the annotation if you want. As I can understand......You can't digest the truth very well, you can look into the papers".

" Want to read once again".

He forwarded the papers and she grabbed them hastily as she tried to open the paper from where he read.

Sameera and Yamini's sister who stood far from her immediately reached to her side to check the papers. Finding the paper Yamini read the content again so does Sameera who just stood side to her.

"Impossible". Sameera whispered as she looked up at him in shock to find him smirking at her and looked back to the papers again. She grabbed the papers from her hand and read the content again and turned the pages reading everything as her timid footings were exchanged with one another in tension.

"I-impossible. How"?

Sameera whispered and he turned around with a contentful smile Yamini cupped her mouth in shock at the things she is yet to be aware of.

"Mom.. mom... D-did you saw this. I-it's not just our house. It is our whole property, I mean all our property including factories, land and all...all a-are under his name".

The thunder jolted in her heart as she looked at her daughter in shock as she stumbled back while Aasha palmed her mouth still standing away from them.

"What did you say? What did you---- How's that possible? YOU"!!

She walked to Aditya and turned him around and asked.

" What kind of rubbish is this. Do you think we believe these random printed papers. No way Harshan may have signed something like that. These papers are just fake".

Saying that she grabbed the papers from Sameera's hands and tore them in front of him. He sighed as he straightened his coat and muttered to himself.

"Thank God that was a Xerox".

"Param. Call that lawyer inside, along with the papers".

Shortly a man in a white shirt with a black coat walked into the hall with the papers.

Fixing his aspects he read out the notice regarding the share of the property from the court and there is no other way than to believe it.

He waved his hand away to the lawyer and he left the place.

He saw them freeze in their place with Meera consoling Yamini and Samira still registering the thing. He looked down at his watch and muttered perfect under his breath and looked up at them.

"It didn't end yet Mrs. Yamini Gupta. There is more of it".

Not long they heard a beeping sound outside and the watchman of their house came running inside as informed.

" Mam. It is the police. They are coming in".
